Our Story
RVA Dukes
The Richmond Alumni Chapter, known proudly as the RVA Dukes, is a spirited community of James Madison University alumni living in the RVA area.
We bring Dukes of all ages together throughout the year with various events—casual happy hours at local bars and breweries, group outings to Flying Squirrels baseball games, JMU game watch parties, and meaningful community service projects.
Our most anticipated event is CrabFest, a beloved summer tradition that brings out alumni of all ages for food, fun, and purple-and-gold pride.
Our goal is to keep the JMU spirit alive in RVA by creating opportunities for alumni to connect, celebrate, and give back. Whether you’re new to the area or just looking to get more involved, we’d love to welcome you.
